You came into our lives a mere five years ago
Rescued, with your sister, from a puddle in your infancy
Bottle fed and cared for you both survived
You grew into a wild man, a crazy man
A penchant for pummeling your sister
Like a battered wife she was always vigilant of your mood
Volatile you were
Though never have I shared my world with an animal
That brought me such aggravation as you
You also brought much joy and laughter into all of our lives
Never have I carried a heart ache as I do with your departure
With an unsettling calm in the house
It has been a tough handful of days for us all
Thank you for your presence
Run free wild man, you are missed
