There are a number of Iguanas at The Dolphin Research Center (DRC) in Grassy Key FL. They are not native to the Florida Keys.
To help control their populations on the islands the center works with a local veterinarian who neuters the animals free of charge.
This one seemed to be the true Alpha of the bunch although it seems a couple other Iguanas think differently. This one was probably 2’-2.5’ foot in length and didn’t seem bothered by anything. The same can’t be said for some of the visitors which were more than willing to get out of its way.
